On Sunday 31st May, as part of the Stowmarket Festival, The Regal Theatre enjoyed a night of great stand-up comedy from four superb acts. Headliner Robin Ince, an excellent and much in-demand comedian with a great reputation having toured with Ricky Gervais and even featured in The Office. Compere James Redmond was a familiar face to many having played major parts in both Hollyoaks and Casualty before turning to stand-up in 2008. Ali Cook, an exciting and dynamic comedian who many would have recognised from Channel 5′s Monkey Magic and Diane Spencer, fresh from her ‘Best Female Comedian’ nomination at the New Zealand comedy guild. Regal Manager David Marsh said “It’s great to have famous and very funny comedians right here in Stowmarket, the night has been a real success”. The Regal hosts it’s next comedy night on Sunday 29th August with Neil Cole (MTV Presenter, XFM DJ, Supported Russell Brand on his UK tour) and Pierre Hollins (BBC TV & Radio Comedy Writer, Supported Rory Bremner on tour), plus guests Mickey Sharma & Dougie Dunlop.
