The engine belongs to Jess’s grandad Barry, who bought it as part of a Government sell-off of the vintage vehicles about five years ago.
It was last used in 2003, during the firemen’s strike.
The vehicles were built in the 1950s for the Auxiliary Fire Service, which was a volunteer force that would combat fires and pump water in the event of a nuclear attack on Britain.
They were later put into storage for use in emergencies.
Mr Reynolds, 70, of Edgecomb Road in Stowmarket, said: “I like big vehicles and I’ve driven coaches in the past.
“All three of them were very excited and were very pleased. The biggest worry was how to climb in and out and still be ladylike with the dresses, so I bought a nice pair of steps to make it easier for them.”
Other vehicles used for the prom included an ice cream van, a tractor and vintage cars.
