As a small businessman and local Councillor I think the world of our part of Suffolk. Stowmarket is a great place with its markets, small businesses and excellent public services. Having known the town for 20 years it is clear that it is really going forward and becoming the heart of the County. A growing, selfconfident and bustling town.
People are independent-minded wanting the best for their families, communities and environment. Electing a Green & Independent MP will make a huge difference for the people of Stowmarket: a fresh and independent voice at Westminster not tied to party whips but serving you.
Party politics and the rip off behaviour of MPs has come close to destroying our democracy and our very faith in politics has been shattered. This parliament has been appalling, undignified and all parties are to blame in this sorry saga. We need MPs elected outside of the party machines that can help rebuild trust and faith in our democracy.
A vote for me is a vote for the NHS, for our schools and universities and for higher state pensions, for jobs and training for young people and standing up for our market towns and rural areas. I believe in fair taxes with those with the most paying more and proper Living Wage. I want us to curb excessive bank bonuses and top executive public sector pay.
I do not want to see a European super state, and I against the introduction of the Euro. I want to see power reside where it belongs – at the local levels, with your Town Council, Mid Suffolk District Council and Suffolk County Council.
I would speak up for what makes Suffolk special: its countryside, heritage and small businesses. I am passionate about individual liberty, encouraging creativity and innovation. People know that we take climate change very seriously, with an economy working with nature rather than against it. Together let’s make Suffolk into Britain’s ‘Green Heartland’.
I know from speaking to many voters during this campaign that they feel let down – even betrayed – by MPs, denied a voice. I will, if elected, provide the people of Stowmarket with that green and independent voice in Parliament; and a truly fresh start.
With your support we can find new ways to make Stowmarket, our Suffolk, and great country, an even better place to live.
