Welcome to the June – July edition of the Flyer. I hope you’re all the enjoying the sunshine - and that your lawns are not too parched and yellow.

This edition is again packed with local business news and events in and around Stowmarket.

And to come – the biggest event of the year next month, the town’s carnival.

I’m delighted with the growing response we are getting from our readers every month.

We are receiving more and more letters and information about events that are happening.

But don’t forget to send us your pictures as well as your news and plans.

If we get a really special one we may even use it as our front cover.

June has seen our former Mayor ……. replaced by ………

Here at the Flyer we wish him/her all the very best in her efforts to promote the town.

We have been so busy recently we are considering employing a new member to join the team.

We are seeking a young enthusiastic person to join us as an apprentice, with day-release to college.

If you are interested in the media please send us your CV.

October here we come, some may not like this month but personally it the best month on the calendar, the season really changes and Christmas is on its way. The downside being shorter days and LONG, LONG nights.

This edition brings you a bumper choice of eating out. May that be Infuse in Stowmarket or The Bacton Bull, you guessed it, in Bacton! And don’t forget a taste of Springbok at the Mendlesham Fleece.

This month see’s the opening of the Stowmarket to Cedars Park relief road “Navigation Approach”. You may have noticed the picture on the front page taken by my own fair hand one evening on my way home from the office in Needham Market. Living that end of town I have really noticed the ease of getting to Needham and Combs, even onto the A14 at Tothill now we don’t have to take a gamble on the train gates being up.

Next month’s edition will have a bumper what’s on guide, and as always we are happy to publish your events. Either email, call us, pop in the office or even send a letter letting us know of any events that are happening in and around Mid Suffolk over the festive period.

We are also looking for columnist’s to work with the Stowmarket Flyer to bring our readers enthralling content and exciting news on events upcoming and in the past. If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, please get in touch.

Yours, Gary Rayner
Editor

Hello once again, what a wet month we have had, seems like is rained every day. Although on the upside, the grass is far greener than it was last month!
You may have noticed that you’re reading on a new 20 page flyer. It’s something we have worked very hard for and which we are very pleased to have achieved. It gives us much more space for local news and information, and of course more room for extra businesses to advertise.
You will also notice that we have a new design, (after all, you never get anywhere standing still!). This new layout gives us a very clean look and also allows for extra space in the flyer. Should you have any suggestions as to how we use our additional pages, please do get in touch.

We are once again looking to expand the flyers reach and are looking for 2 things…..

1: Extra advertisers, with rates from £30 to £400 we have an advert suitable for everyone.

2: People to deliver in Stowmarket, Combs, Stowupland and Needham Market. So anyone interested in delivering can call us on our usual number.

Have a great month and I look forward to October.

Hello all, and welcome to your May edition of the Stowmarket and District Flyer.

As always a very busy month here, not helped by bringing the flyer print dates forward. You may have noticed that you’re receiving this month’s edition about a week early and we hope to keep it this way. We were finding that the flyer was crossing over 2 months making the “what’s on” guide a little tricky to put together.

Im sitting here on Friday the 23rd writing to you from my office and the sun is shining, the weather is warm, and it’s been like this for over a week now (are we finally seeing the start of a BBQ summer??!)

If you want to make the most of your garden this Summer, please visit 2 of the best garden centres in Suffolk, their details are inside. Next month we will have a full feature on them. So, if you have any questions you would like answered please contact us and we will ask the experts and get back to you in next month’s edition.

All at the Flyer hope your May will be as good as April was. Keep smiling and I’ll speak to you next month.

Gary Rayner – Editor
